farm has been in existence for decades and has changed owners over the
farms original name stands as is and has not changed, in 2004 Jaap
Opperman and Charl. Terblanche bought the farm with the intent to have
a few wild animals, start up a breeding
programme for rare carnivores and to use it as a weekend breakaway for
family and friends.
The lodge exists from 2008.
The partners built "log" type cabins ad named them "lion" "leopard"
"elephant" these were to be
used as their personal breakaway homes. From friends and family it
quickly grew into a place where people wanted to go to experience the
bush and animals.
The lodge has since then grown from strength to strength with numerous antelope and other
animals being added. Today the lodge holds host to weddings, conferences and functions. It
can sleep up to 55 people in comfortable facilities with a licensed bar and a on site restaurant.
Jaap and Charl are both dedicated to the lodge and believe in quality as well as providing a true
"bush experience", which simply means traditional surroundings with good food.
